Sweet Potatoes

Sullivan has mastered green beans, carrots, and peas, so tonight we ventured on to sweet potatoes. Boy, oh boy, did he love them! I couldn't spoon them into his mouth fast enough. At one point Oliver wanted seconds of his dinner, so I got up to refill his plate. I left the sweet potato bowl with the spoon in it at the far edge of the high chair tray, not thinking Sullivan could even reach it. After a minute I turned to see this:
I was so impressed! Excited that he was understanding the concept of feeding himself and was getting the spoon in his own mouth. Wow, caught me off guard with that one!

Spring...almost

Earlier this week we had a couple of beautiful days! Like low 70s beautiful. Seth and I are definitely happier when it is warm out, so we were loving it. We took our first official family walk of the year on Monday night after dinner, and it felt great to get movin'!We went right after dinner, so I didn't bring any snacks or anything (why would I? We had just eaten...) I guess Oliver was still hungry cause he kept asking for a snack the whole time. So when we got home, Oliver sat on the porch and ate a bowl of fresh strawberries...yummm...

Lately I've been getting fresh flowers at the store to brighten up our living room - at just 5 bucks a pop, I figure we can afford them every now and then. And can I just tell you that I have been enjoying them immensely. I look at them multiple times a day, and think to myself (and sometimes say out loud), "those flowers are so pretty." Makes me happy :)
So the pretty weather didn't last. Tuesday night it dropped 40 degrees and was down in the low 30s. Bleh. Today the high is 34 I think. So, we're staying in, and I'm folding mounds of clean clothes that have somehow collected on the chair in my room...

Happy boy! Sullivan turned 7 months yesterday!! I forgot to post about his 6 month stats, and now another whole month has passed by. Craziness. And to top it off, I don't exactly remember his 6 month stats. Oh well. We're going back for a weight check in a week to see how he's doing, so I'll post after that. Despite the fact that Sullivan looks like a healthy, thriving boy, he's been dropping percentages in the weight category to a possibly concerning extent. He's still spitting up like crazy (Oliver did too, but his stopped around this age), so I've been hoping that will end soon and we won't have any issues to worry about. He's in the 30th percentile in weight now, which in and of itself isn't concerning, it's just concerning that he started in the 90th, then went to the 50th, and now is down to the 30th. They don't like to see it keep dropping like that. So, if you would, say a little prayer for our Sully Cole that he would continue to grow at a healthy rate and stop spitting up soon!! But oh, that smile... it lights up everyone's world!

Photoshoot with Sullivan and Jack

Last Thursday I watched Jamey and Jack for a bit in the morning, and the boys had so much fun! Jamey and Oliver played like angels, Jack was awesome and did his thing with Sullivan and me, and we just had a great time! Sullivan was having a spit-up-free morning (oh it was glorious), so he was able to be bib-less and just be cute in his outfit. I was taking a few pictures of him on the chair, and then I thought, "I need to stick Jack up there, too!" And what adorable pictures I got! Sullivan loved looking at Jack and would smile huge anytime Jack looked back at him. It was seirously so cute. I'm really glad to have these pics, as we have tons of Jamey and Oliver when they were little. Now here's the second round of kiddos!

Dallas

Last weekend we trekked down to Dallas to visit our best friends and godson, Tim, Sarah, and Alex (affectionately known as Uncle Tim-Tim and Auntie Sarah)! They lived here for 3 years while Tim attended Law School and then last June moved to Dallas, and we miss them like C-R-A-Z-Y. But we are so glad they live close enough for visits! We loved seeing their cute house, Tim's office, visiting their church, and just seeing their life in Dallas. We went to the park, the zoo, ate at some great restaurants, and Tim's firm has a box at the American Airlines Center, so he took Seth to the Maverick's game on Friday night! A fun time was definitely had by all!

Sullivan's First Food!!

So, I know I have TONS of catching up to do. I got overwhelmed at the thought of trying to update you with all the pictures we've been taking over the last few weeks, so I decided to just make Picasa albums of them all and post links. Quicker for everyone.

These pics of Sullivan's first taste of rice cereal were a few weeks ago, and he was awesome! Oliver didn't have a good first experience with rice cereal, so I was sort of expecting that with Sullivan, too. Not so! It was a hit, and he did great. The second day, however, was a different story. He went downhill for a few days, and then slowly came back up again. He's pretty much a pro now, and has mastered green beans and carrots as well. Next will be peas, and then on to sweet potatoes! But I'll leave those pics for another post...
